AC Charger
An AC EV charger, also known as an AC electric vehicle charger or Level 2 charger, is a type of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment that is designed to charge an EV’s battery using AC electricity. Unlike DC fast chargers, which can provide high-powered charging for EVs on the go, AC chargers are typically used for slower, more convenient charging at home or at workplace charging stations.
DC Charger
DC fast chargers are capable of delivering power at rates of up to 350 kilowatts (kW), which can charge an EV battery to 80% capacity in as little as 20-30 minutes, depending on the charging rate of the vehicle and the size of its battery. DC chargers use direct current (DC) electricity, which is the same type of electricity used to power EV batteries, to charge the vehicle’s battery directly, bypassing the vehicle’s onboard charger.
